The Donna #2 – race recap -> Part 1

Ok here it is!!!  Prepare for picture overload!  I was asked at the conclusion of the Donna Marathon last year if I would come back for an encore.  They loved it that much.  My job would be harder, more runners, bad weather and my phone battery didn’t make it the entire race.

Last year I was asked in January to join the group and ride along with them.  So I had very little time to think, plan or much of anything.  This time around we have been talking about this trip for an entire year.  It seemed like it would never get here and the time flew all in the same breathe.

Of course I waited until the last minute to figure out what I was going to wear.  So Tuesday before the race I finally decided to sew me a pink and white skirt to wear over my bike shorts.   You can see the light green shirt that several of us decided to wear.

So the day finally comes for us to pack up and head to Jacksonville!  I made lists and obsessively packed a large suitcase and backpack.  I was so afraid i was going to forget something.

I got it all in the car, including the bike.  Hubby was needing my van so I got his car.

We meet at 8 am and get to open a very special package from our friend Michelle who couldn’t come on the trip this year.   She made us special Donna cookies.  We loved them and took pics to send to her before we left.

We made it to the expo without any trouble and the weather was perfect.  🙂
