Balance in my life is what I am trying to find. Right now it is still chaos! Work is great, fantastic, crazy and draining all in one breath. I know it will settle down once I get used to all of this but I feel like I’m lost in the chaos sometimes. I fly out of the house at 6:30ish, kissing my boys and rush off to work. That flies by in a blink of an eye, because I am literally busy almost every single minute. Leave work, and head to pick up one or both of my boys and then off to the house to wrap up homework, dinner, getting ready for the next day and whatever else I can throw in. So you can see why I haven’t posted anything, I haven’t had time to breathe.
But on a good note, I am still running, biking and throwing in a little swimming!! My new work has an on site gym so I’m taking advantage of the twice a week yoga classes right now. I will branch out but this is perfect. I need to do this, it really helps my hips and core and I feel so much better afterwards. Here are a few yoga funnies!!! lol
I do want to try a cycling class, I just haven’t built up the nerve to go yet. But that will change tomorrow!!! My kids are on winter break and that means mommy gets a break (they are at their grandparents house) and I’m going to go to a cycling class after work. I’m getting usually 2 runs a week and some walks on the treadmill. I feel pretty decent about that. I’ve been on a few bike rides and thrown my bike back on the trainer to make me work for an hour during the last ice storm we had. So I’m getting it done.
Here are a few new gadgets I got and love!!! First I got the new Sony sport MP3 player. The best part!!!! is that it’s waterproof and you can wear it in the pool. I’ve done it once and it was so much fun to just swim and listen to my play list. It’s got no cords to fool with and just goes around your head and pops into your ears. Pretty simple to work too.
Next, I got a Fitbit Force for Christmas. This has been helpful to get me to move more often during the day and not just when I have a run/bike/swim scheduled. I see that I don’t around near as much as I thought and some nights I get on the treadmill to get my 10,000 steps for the day. It makes me more concious of my movements, get my activity in and I can log my water intake. I am aiming for 10,000 steps a day, 5 miles, 10 flights of stairs, 30 min of active activity and 100 oz of water. Some days I hit all of them and then some, others not so much. It’s progress so I will take it. Also, I got the hubby one and it’s become a competition to see who can get the most steps in a week. He thinks its great when he beats me!So Yes!! I am still here, YES I am still moving and being healthy and YES I will try to be more present. Trying to find the new normal, even if it doesn’t exist. lol
Finally!! This weekend is the Donna Full and Half Marathon and I will be doing a repeat performance from last year. So look for details, lots of pictures and lots of fun to come. Can’t wait to spend the weekend with these ladies and a bunch more.
Interesting gadgets! Putting them on my wishlist.
I love gadgets but they have to fun and useful!! these fit the bill in both categories.
Love the gadget reviews!!! Is the Fitbit Force waterproof? I see mixed reviews on the review pages. If I got it, I would want to be able to use it in the pool during my aqua zumba classes!
The force is not waterproof. The flex is!! I love it.
So you take it off when you swim? You think the force is better than the flex? So many people on the reviews don’t like it not being waterproof … I wonder if they will update it soon to be waterproof. I am going to wait it out a little bit to see I think! Plus when I looked, the force is backordered 4-6 weeks the website says.
Yes I take it off when I swim. I don’t know which one is better. I would like it to be waterproof but it’s not a deal breaker. You can get the force at target and best buy also check amazon.
