Life got crazy and I can’t slow down long enough to type out the blog posts that I want too. Yes you all will be enlightened but not yet. 🙂 I know I am such a tease.
So here is part of what I want to tell you all. It’s my 2nd Running Anniversary!!! Officially I believe the actual day is December 4th, but it’s the first weekend in December that I did my very first Couch 2 5k workout. I drove up to the Library in Peachtree City, put on my ipod and started my stopwatch. I didn’t know what to expect or how I would feel. I of course picked a route that had these rolling hills on it and I cursed my way up and down them. But what was important is that I did the entire first workout and didn’t stop. I then started doing my workouts 3 times a week on a schedule so I wouldn’t have any excuses. And that’s exactly what I did, I kept going. 2 years later I have now completed 12 5k’s in 2012 and in 2013 I have done – 9- 5k’s, 2-10k’s, 4 sprint triathlons, and 1 2-day (94 mile) bike event. 16 events in total during 2013. I am super pleased with that. So to celebrate my runnaversary I ran a 10k with these two wonderful ladies!!!!
Kept a good pace and finally needed a good walk break right before mile 3.5. Then I declared I was running up and over that damn hill at mile 4.5, which I did. Stopped right before 5 because Jordan (on the right) slipped on the cart paths but was fine. I stopped my watch for a minute and then we started walking. Towards the end I was walking up the hills and running down the other side. I was very pleased and I felt good. These ladies made it fun!!!
