Headed out yesterday for a 20 mile ride. Actually ended up doing 27 miles (a new PR) WOOHOO!! I was already feeling tired early into the ride and was second guessing myself but just kept chugging along. We got to a 4 way stop and had a decision to make – 20 or 27 mile route. We decided to go for the 27. I really liked it. I’ve done the 20 mile route multiple times and there are some nasty hills that just kill me. I wasn’t looking forward to that. The 27 was better, and I really enjoyed it. I want to do that route again. 🙂 here are my splits. Not sure why the elevation isn’t coming up. I’ve had garmin goof up like this once before.
Headed to the pool today during lunch. Started with my 100 warmup and felt so good I just kept going. After 200 yds I wanted to stop for a minute but powered through and finished a continuous 300 yd swim in just under 7 min. That’s my tri distance for May. 🙂 I was going at a good speed but not trying to push too hard. So as I get stronger this should get faster. My entire workout was the following:
300 yd swim (under 7 min)
50 yd rest
150 kick drill
300 yd stroke drill (continuous again!!!!)
100 kick drill
200 – 50’s at just over 1 min each
100 cool down
1200 yds in 35 mins. Obviously I’m getting stronger and faster without any additional effort since I was able to do 100 more yds this time compared to last week.
Finally, if the rain holds off I will go for a 4 mile run tomorrow night. Will see what the weather does. I can push it off to Wednesday just so I don’t have to run on the treadmill. I haven’t in at least 4 months and that’s a streak I would like to keep going. 🙂
